For the first time SABC KZN is supporting the Zululand Expo in Richards Bay is to showcase its kiddies TV programmes at the event from Thursday 27th September until Saturday 29th September 2007.    Adults and children will be treated to live performes of Yo TV, DUB and Takalani Sesame.    Children will have the opportunity to have met and greets with the fun characters and participate in inter-active concerts which will be featured on the main stage in the arena.

Zama Nomngana, regional communications manager KZN commented  “Looking at statistics, the Zululand Expo is fast growing in its reputation each year and the professional manner in which it is organized and managed is very evident.  The national broadcaster is proud to be associated with Zululand’s premier event and we look forward to our partnership with the Zululand Expo”.

Virna McMaster, expo manager is also delighted that they will be able to bring another aspect to the show this year.   “The expo team has always placed a large focus on children’s entertainment, as we firmly believe that we would like to provide a safe, affordable event for families to enjoy a variety of entertainment in one weekend”.

SABC is shifting from an inward-orientated self assessing stance to a broadcasting culture that is totally citizen focused.  The golf of the corporation is to ensure that the SABC brand promotes democracy, non-racism, national building and empowers the citizens through informative, entertaining and educative programme in all official languages.

In the spirit of empowering all South Africans, the SABC is involved in a number of projects such as the Rand Show, Royal Show, Grahamstown National Arts Festival, Durban Bach Festival, Bloemfontain Road show, but to name a few.

Ukozi Fm will be broadcasting live from the Expo and show goers will have the opportunity to meet some of the Ukozi FM DJ’s.    The SABC will also be exhibiting a stand in Flamingo Hall where show-goers will be able to purchase their TV licenses or find out any relevant information with regards to the SABC.

The Zululand Expo, is a combined entertainment and exhibition event, held annually in Richards Bay and has become Zululand’s premier entertainment and exhibition event on both the business and social calendar.

Show dates this year is Thursday 27  September until Saturday 29 September 2007.
Adults tickets are R40 and children under twelve is R20.

The expo committee, made up of a group of volunteers from various business sectors within the community, are finalizing arrangements for this year’s event  and there are some exciting aspects up for grabs.   The entertainment programme is always a huge drawcard and the committee have once again selected some of the country’s top artists and bands to perform at the Zululand Expo.
Show organizer, Virna McMaster, is keeping mum about the entertainment line-up for now, but visitors will once again not be disappointed as the line-up has some major drawcards!
